— Junior Academy

From first racket
to tournament tennis.

A complete development pipeline for competitive juniors. Players progress through three tiers, Grand Prix → PATP → ATP, with a clear path, structured evaluation, and coaching from former tour-level professionals.

The full progression.

— 01 / The Path

A real, structured path for juniors. Most clubs offer a single program. We offer three tiers that build on each other, so a six-year-old who starts at Grand Prix Level 1 can grow into a tournament-tested teen training for collegiate tennis.

Our highest tier, and it's invitation only. ATP is high-performance training for juniors actively competing in sanctioned tournaments, run Monday through Friday, 5 to 7 PM, by two coaches with genuine tour pedigree. Across the 20 years Darin has led this program, many of its players have gone on to compete in college tennis.

Program Director

Directed by Coach Alex

Both the Grand Prix and PATP programs are directed by Coach Alex, a USPTA and USPTR certified professional with over 20 years developing high-performance players and coaching on the WTA Tour. He personally runs every player's evaluation, so families start in exactly the right program.

Grey Rock Player Development logo (Grand Prix and PATP)

For players ready to compete.

PATP is for advanced beginners who are starting to compete or already competing. The goal: build the technical, tactical, and mental skills players need before they're ready for ATP-level tournament training.

We don't require a UTR for PATP. Every player first goes through a free 15-minute evaluation with Coach Alex, so we place them at the right level.

How to apply for PATP

Book a free 15-minute on-court evaluation with Coach Alex. He'll assess your player's skills and place them in the correct level (1, 2, or 3). Then they fill out their info at the front desk and they're enrolled.

The free 15-minute evaluation with Coach Alex makes sure your player starts in the right program. Grand Prix players generally don't need one, it's for families moving into PATP or ATP.

A club account is required for PATP and ATP.

This isn't optional, every parent of a PATP or ATP player has a club account on file. Here's why: we only charge for the days a player actually shows up. Rather than collect payment on the court each day, we tally attendance and bill the credit card on file at the end of the month. It's cleaner for you, easier on our front desk, and means missed days never cost you anything.

Junior Team Tennis.

— 04 / Junior Team Tennis

Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is where training turns into team competition, and it's a key step in a player's development. It bridges the gap between learning in a clinic and competing on your own, giving juniors real match experience in a fun, supportive team setting. All Grand Prix Level 3 through PATP Level 3 players are welcome to join.

What it is

JTT is a USTA-sanctioned, team-based format. Instead of playing as an individual, your junior joins a Grey Rock team and competes against teams from other clubs across the season.

Each team match is a mix of singles and doubles, and every player's result adds to one combined team score. Kids compete for themselves and for their teammates at the same time, which builds both skill and camaraderie.

Where every junior starts.

Grand Prix runs Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, in three age groups. Players can attend Tuesday only, Thursday only, or both, whatever fits your family's schedule.

  • 4:00 PM · Alley CatsAges 5–8 · 45 min
  • 5:00 PM · FuturesAges 9–11 · 1 hr
  • 6:00 PM · ChallengersAges 12–18 · 1 hr

The club is closed the first Tuesday of every month for court maintenance. Tuesday-only pricing already accounts for these closures.

No racket? No problem.

We have plenty of free loaner rackets, your player will never be without one.

If you'd like to purchase a junior racket, we carry a selection from $39 to $69 in the pro shop. Grand Prix players receive a 20% discount on any new junior racket.

Makeup days are built into every session.

Players attending one day per week receive one makeup day; players attending two days per week receive two makeup days. If a class is canceled due to weather or other club-related issues, you'll receive a makeup day or a credit toward a future session or private lesson. We do not offer refunds, only credits.

Non-members pay a $5 fee on top of every lesson, clinic, and court booking. For active junior players, that adds up fast, $20+ per week just to access the same programs members do.

The Select Junior Package waives that $5 fee for as long as it's active. It's optional and month-to-month, no contract, no initiation. The monthly fee covers the $5-fee waiver only; lessons and clinics are billed at their normal rates.

  • Individual · one junior$39/mo
  • + Sibling · two juniors$59/mo
  • Family · three or more$79/mo
